Hamilton Art Gallery

A local treasure for almost 60 years, Hamilton Gallery presents a range of exhibitions, programs and events that stimulate understanding, awareness and enjoyment of the visual arts.

The gallery, which is managed by the Southern Grampians Shire Council, is the most significant public cultural facility in the region and forms an important part of the range of tourism experiences available in the Greater Hamilton region.

Sheepvention

After a 2 year hiatus, Sheepvention is back bigger than ever for 2022. Organised by the Hamilton Pastoral & Agricultural Society, the event returns to the Hamilton Showgrounds in late July. The event will deliver a number of exciting segments, including The Hamilton and District Sheep Show, Wool Handling, Coprice Victorian Farm Dog Championships, Innovations Hub, Producers Pavilion, Trade Exhibitions and much more.

Hamilton Pastoral Museum

Dedicated to the display and preservation of historic pastoral machinery, objects and restorable items to celebrate the legacy of farming in Victoria and beyond.

Dedicated to the display and preservation of historic pastoral machinery, objects and restorable items to celebrate the legacy of farming in Victoria and beyond. The museum is open year ’round, and features miniature train rides, the annual Teddy Bear Picnic, Motor Club rallys, and the famous ‘History In Action’ open days twice per year.

Ansett Transport Museum

The Sir Reginald Ansett Transport Museum is based on the Ansett company’s first aircraft hangar.
Centrepieces of the display are a Fokker Universal aircraft, similar to the one used on the first Ansett flight in 1936, and the 1928 Studebaker.
Other memorabilia includes documents from the early days of the Ansett empire. Of particular interest is the company’s first prospectus which sets out the capital required and proposed development of the company.
